It appears some Americans are tired of receiving coffee in cardboard cups…
While doing a google search, I came across this article from Ron Grossman an editor of the Chigaco Tribune.
In the article, he expresses concern over the degradation of the average coffee shop in America, where he says:
“One barista — counter person, in plain English — extends a minimalist greeting: “Next.” while another hands you an overpriced coffee in a cardboard cup.”
“I wanted a waitress who knows her customers by name, and I wanted customers who call her “Honey” or “Sweetheart.” I was looking for a place where thick-walled coffee mugs clunk on Formica countertops. Where busboys refill your cup until your kidneys cry for mercy.”
Our South African Coffee shops are expecting a number of customers to appear in their places of business next year-
The Americans are coming to visit Nelson Mandela and then watch some world cup soccer
I believe with a little work we can meet Ron Grosman’s expectations, let’s hope he goes on the midlands meander route huh? – some really cool shops on that route.
